Kennedy Chigozie Ahanotu is an Ahmadu Bello University; Zaria trained Agricultural Economist & Rural Sociologist, with a Post Graduate (Masters) Degree on Development Economics. He is a Consummate Strategist offering over ten progressive years of experience in Research, Strategic Planning, Policy Development, Social Activism, Programme Facilitation, Procurement and Resource/Project Management.
Kennedy is a published author, a proactive Radio/TV guest, a correspondent contributor to Environment Africa Magazine, a Child Online Protection Ambassador and a Green Economy/Renewable Energy Advocate.
Kennedy has attended and contributed in many UN sponsored seminars, workshops, and researches’ including the UNFCCC’s Land Degradation Neutrality Workshop, European Union’s (EU) MRV Training etc; as well as many stakeholders roundtable on Green Economy and he contributed in Nigeria’s Policy Roadmap and Strategic Development Framework for Green Economy as a detailed research professional.
Kennedy coordinated the pilot phase of DFID funded Technology Research for International Development (TRIID) project – Enhancing LPG Access in Semi-Urban Settlements (Arondizuogu – Imo State and Okpanku – Enugu State) in South East Nigeria by Centre for Climate Change and Development, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State in partnership with Techno Oil and Africare.
Kennedy facilitated University of Reading; United Kingdom collaborative research on ‘Capacity Assessment for Green Economy Transition in Nigeria’ with Federal Ministry of Science and Technology (FMST) for 5 Agencies (FIIRO, NILEST, ECN, NABDA, and NBTI).
Kennedy recently emerged the Labour Party (LP) House of Representative Candidate for Abuja North Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja-Nigeria in the 2019 General Election (www.kcahanotu.org.ng).
He facilitated the 3rd Annual Green Economy Lecture and Award (Kwara 2018); as the Program Liaison Officer for Sustainable Energy Practitioners Association of Nigeria (SEPAN). He jointly facilitated the Economic & Social Research Council‘s (ESRC) UK Governing Inclusive Green Growth in Africa (GIGGA) Research Dissemination Workshop in Abuja Nigeria by Professor Chukwumerije Okereke (Lead Researcher) of the University of Reading, United Kingdom.
He contributed in development of the Climate Change Bill which has been passed by the Nigeria’s Federal House of Representatives, as Head-Admin/Senior Research Officer of Green Economics Initiative of Nigeria (GEIN). He was the pioneer Biometric Officer (Supervisor) with the AMAC Geographic Information System (AGIS), Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) FCT. Kennedy at a time was an Executive Assistant to the Senior Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Technical Matters; and he also served as the Acting Director of Organization to The Citizens Club.
He is an honest and open-minded professional who is mentally and emotionally stable; having the capacity to deliver time-bound results with tremendous leadership (resource management) qualities. He is married with children and brings to any organization his high level Research, Policy Development, Writing, Leadership and Information Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities.
