Dr. Kesiena Owebor is a purpose-driven scholar in the field of sustainable and low-carbon energy. He holds B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, and masters and PhD degrees in Energy and Thermofluid Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, where he also bagged an unprecedented CGPA of 5.00 on a scale of 5.00, in his masters degree.
Dr. Kesiena Owebor lectures Energy and Thermofluid related courses at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Delta State University, Nigeria. His research interest spans through energy modelling, renewable energy, fuel cell systems, low-high grade thermal energy conversion technologies, carbon capture, and low-emission & energy transition future.
Dr. Kesiena Owebor has participated in several energy transition projects. He was the team lead of the Power Sector in the Nigerian Deep Decarbonisation Pathway Project and the Nigerian Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS). He is also the team lead of the Power Sector in the Nigerian Just Transition Roadmap. He also participated in the alignment of the Nigeria’s NDC, ETP and LT-LEDS.
Dr. Kesiena Owebor has published more than twenty articles in Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis, and has been cited in more than four hundred research. He has also reviewed for the Elsevier’s Applied Energy and other energy related journals. He has more 3 years of experience in the use of Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) – an energy transition modeling tool.
Dr. Kesiena Owebor is a fully registered Mechanical Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is an active user of Research Gate, Linkedln, and also visible in Google Scholar. His ORCiD is https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0511-2653. He has supervised four undergraduate projects, and co-supervised a master level project.
